GigaPan Unveils EPIC Pro Robotic Camera Mount

GigaPan has debuted the EPIC Pro, a robotic camera mount specifically designed for DSLRs to capture multi-gigapixel panorama shots. The new mount can hold up to 10 pounds. With the PRO mount, users can take the thousands of images needed to stitch together one highly detailed image. Once stitched, the image is uploaded to gigapan.com, where users can zoom and share their panoramic images. GigaPan Systems has released the Epic 100, the latest in the Epic robotic camera mount series to capture detailed gigapixel panoramas.

With a maximum weight limit of three pounds, the Epic 100 now works with smaller DSLR cameras, as well as the larger point-and-shoot cameras that are compatible with the original Epic mount.

GigaPan Systems has launched the GigaPan Epic, a unique mechanism and software that can be used to create 1,000-plus-megapixel panoramic images. Powered by technology from the NASA Mars Rover, the GigaPan was used by photographer David Bergman to create his famous image of President Barack Obama's inaugural address.
